अभिषिक्ते तु सुग्रीवे सर्वे वानर पुंगवाः ।
प्रचुक्रुशुर् महात्मानो हृष्टाः शत सहस्रशः ॥ ॥४-२६-३७॥
abhiṣikte tu sugrīve sarve vānara puṃgavāḥ । pracukruśur mahātmāno hṛṣṭāḥ śata sahasraśaḥ ॥ ॥4-26-37॥
Translation
Upon Sugriva being consecrated, all the bulls among Vanaras, the high-souled ones, numbering in hundreds of thousands, shouted/cheered in joy.

सुग्रीव का अभिषेक संपन्न होने पर, लाखों की संख्या में उपस्थित वे सभी महात्मा वानर श्रेष्ठ हर्षित होकर उच्च स्वर में जयघोष करने लगे।
English Commentary
The roar of the crowd is the democratic seal on the monarchy. 'Pracukruśur' indicates a loud, collective cry of jubilation. The sheer scale ('hundreds of thousands') emphasizes the density of the population and the military strength now at Sugriva's command. Calling the common Vanaras 'mahātmāno' (great-souled) dignifies the masses; they are not a mindless mob but noble beings rejoicing in the restoration of order. Their happiness confirms that the tension of the Vali-Sugriva conflict has been resolved in the public psyche.

किसी भी राजा की शक्ति उसकी प्रजा और सेना के समर्थन में निहित होती है। 'प्रचुक्रुशुर्' का अर्थ है जोर से चिल्लाना या कोलाहल करना, जो यहाँ हर्षोल्लास का सूचक है। 'शत सहस्रशः' (लाखों) वानरों की उपस्थिति और उनकी खुशी यह बताती है कि यह सत्ता परिवर्तन स्वीकार्य है। उन्हें 'महात्मानो' (महान आत्मा वाले) कहा गया है, जो उनकी वफादारी और सरल हृदय को दर्शाता है। यह सामूहिक उद्घोष किष्किन्धा की घाटियों में गूंज उठा होगा, जो नए युग के आरंभ की घोषणा थी।
