रामस्य तु वचः कुर्वन् सुग्रीवो हरि पुंगवः ।
अंगदम् संपरिष्वज्य यौवराज्ये अभिषेचयत् ॥ ॥४-२६-३८॥
rāmasyatu vacaḥ kurvan sugrīvo hari puṃgavaḥ । aṃgadam saṃpariṣvajya yauvarājye abhiṣecayat ॥ ॥4-26-38॥
Translation
Following Rama's advice, Sugriva, the bull among monkeys, embraced Angada and consecrated him to the office of Crown Prince (Yuvaraja).

तब वानर श्रेष्ठ सुग्रीव ने राम के वचन का पालन करते हुए, अंगद को गले लगाया और उसका युवराज पद पर अभिषेक किया।
English Commentary
This verse highlights Sugriva's adherence to Dharma and gratitude towards Rama. By installing Angada, the son of his slain brother and enemy, as 'Yuvaraja' (Crown Prince), Sugriva displays remarkable statesmanship. He follows Rama's counsel ('rāmasya vacaḥ'), ensuring that the transition of power does not disenfranchise Vali's lineage. The embrace ('saṃpariṣvajya') is a public gesture of reconciliation, healing the rift within the royal family. This move unifies the kingdom, as loyalists of Vali now have a reason to support Sugriva's regime.
