गिरि शृंगम् इदम् तात पश्य च उत्तरतः शुभम् ।
भिन्न अंजन चय आकारम् अंभोधरम् इव उदितम् ॥ ॥४-२७-१४॥
Giri śṛṅgam idam tāta paśya ca uttarataḥ śubham । Bhinna añjana caya ākāram ambhodharam iva uditam ॥ ॥4-27-14॥
Translation
Dear brother (Tata), behold this auspicious mountain peak in the northern direction, which has the shape of a heap of collyrium and rises up appearing like a rain-bearing cloud.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे तात! उत्तर दिशा में स्थित इस शुभ पर्वत शिखर को देखो, जो अंजन के ढेर के आकार का है और उठते हुए मेघ के समान दिखाई दे रहा है।
English Commentary
Rama addresses Lakshmana affectionately as Tata (dear one). He directs Lakshmana's gaze to the northern peak. The comparison connects the earth to the sky; the peak resembles a heap of black pigment and looks like a rising rain cloud (ambhodharam). As the rainy season approaches, Rama’s imagery naturally shifts towards clouds and dark hues, reflecting the mood of the season and the landscape.

श्रीराम लक्ष्मण को छोटे भाई के रूप में 'तात' कहकर संबोधित करते हैं, जो स्नेह का सूचक है। उत्तर दिशा के शिखर की तुलना पुनः अंजन और 'अंभोधर' (पानी से भरे बादल) से की गई है। वर्षा ऋतु का आगमन निकट है, इसलिए पर्वत शिखरों में भी श्रीराम को मेघों का आभास हो रहा है। यह उपमा प्रकृति की भव्यता और श्याम वर्ण की सुंदरता को दर्शाती है।
