पुलिनैः अति रम्यैः च हंस सारस सेविता ।
प्रहसंती इव भाति एषा नारी रत्न विभूषिता ॥ ॥४-२७-२१॥
Pulinaiḥ ati ramyaiḥ ca haṃsa sārasa sevitā । Prahasantī iva bhāti eṣā nārī ratna vibhūṣitā ॥ ॥4-27-21॥
Translation
With its very beautiful sandbanks and served by swans and cranes, this river appears like a smiling woman adorned with jewels.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अत्यंत रमणीय रेतीले तटों (पुलिन) वाली तथा हंस और सारस पक्षियों से सेवित यह नदी, रत्नों से विभूषित हँसती हुई नारी के समान प्रतीत होती है।
English Commentary
The metaphor of the river as a woman continues. The sandbanks (pulinaiḥ) and the white swans and cranes add to its splendor, making the river look like a woman adorned with jewels (ratna vibhūṣitā). The brightness of the white birds and sand against the water is poetically imagined as the river "smiling" (prahasantī iva).

नदी की तुलना पुनः एक स्त्री से की गई है। नदी के 'पुलिन' (रेतीले तट) उसकी देहयष्टि, और हंस-सारस उसके आभूषण या हँसी (सफेद रंग के कारण) के समान हैं। 'प्रहसंती इव' (हँसती हुई सी) पद नदी के प्रवाह की कलकल ध्वनि और उज्ज्वलता को ध्वनित करता है।
