क्वचित् नीलोत्पलैः च्छन्ना भाति रक्तोत्पलैः क्वचित् ।
क्वचित् भाति शुक्लैः च दिव्यैः कुमुद कुड्मलैः ॥ ॥४-२७-२२॥
Kvacit nīlotpalaiḥ cchannā bhāti raktotpalaiḥ kvacit । Kvacit bhāti śuklaiḥ ca divyaiḥ kumuda kuḍmalaiḥ ॥ ॥4-27-22॥
Translation
At some places, it appears covered with blue lotuses, at others with red lotuses, and at some places, it shines with divine white water-lily buds.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यह नदी कहीं नीले कमलों से, कहीं लाल कमलों से ढकी हुई सुशोभित हो रही है, तो कहीं दिव्य श्वेत कुमुद की कलियों से शोभा पा रही है।
English Commentary
This verse describes the colorful tapestry of the river surface. Rama observes patches of blue (nīlotpala) and red (raktotpala) lotuses, and elsewhere, white water lilies (kumuda). The use of the word divyaiḥ (divine) suggests that the beauty of these flowers transcends the ordinary, contributing to the serene and sacred atmosphere of the hermitage.

यहाँ नदी के जल के ऊपर खिले पुष्पों के रंगों का वर्णन है। नील, रक्त और श्वेत वर्णों का मिश्रण नदी को एक रंग-बिरंगे वस्त्र की भाँति दिखा रहा है। 'दिव्यैः' विशेषण बताता है कि ये पुष्प साधारण नहीं, बल्कि वन की पवित्रता के कारण अलौकिक आभा वाले हैं।
