Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पश्य चंदन वृक्षाणाम् पंक्तीः सुरुचिरा इव ।
ककुभानाम् च दृश्यन्ते मनसा इव उदिताः समम् ॥ ॥४-२७-२४॥
Paśya candana vṛkṣāṇām paṅktīḥ surucirā iva । Kakubhānām ca dṛśyante manasā iva uditāḥ samam ॥ ॥4-27-24॥
Translation
Behold these beautiful rows of Sandalwood and Kakubha trees; they appear as if they have risen up all at once by the mere will of the mind.
हिंदी अनुवाद
देखो, चंदन और ककुभ (अर्जुन) वृक्षों की ये सुंदर पंक्तियाँ ऐसी दिखाई देती हैं मानो (किसी के) संकल्प मात्र से एक साथ ही उग आई हों।
English Commentary
Rama admires the symmetry of nature. The rows of Sandalwood and Kakubha trees are so uniform and beautiful that they seem unnatural in their perfection—as if created instantly by a mental resolve (manasā iva uditāḥ) rather than growing wild over time. This metaphor highlights the orderly beauty of the Prasravana surroundings.
हिंदी टीका
वृक्षों की पंक्तियाँ इतनी सुव्यवस्थित और समान ऊँचाई की हैं कि श्रीराम कहते हैं वे 'मनसा इव उदिताः' (मन से उगाई गई सी) हैं। आशय यह है कि प्रकृति की रचना में भी कभी-कभी ऐसी समता और व्यवस्था दिखती है मानो किसी ने सोच-समझकर उसे रचा हो। यह वन की नैसर्गिक सुंदरता की पराकाष्ठा है।
