Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
लक्ष्मणस्य हि तद् वाक्यम् प्रतिपूज्य हितम् शुभम् ।
राघवः सुहृदम् स्निग्धम् इदम् वचनम् अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥४-२७-४१॥
Lakṣmaṇasya hi tad vākyam pratipūjya hitam śubham । Rāghavaḥ suhṛdam snigdham idam vacanam abravīt ॥ ॥4-27-41॥
Translation
Honoring those beneficial and auspicious words of Lakshmana, Raghava spoke these words to his affectionate and good-hearted friend.

लक्ष्मण के उन हितकारी और शुभ वचनों का सम्मान करके, राघव (श्रीराम) ने अपने उस स्नेही सुहृद (मित्र/भाई) से यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Rama responds with grace and appreciation. He honors (pratipūjya) Lakshmana's advice, recognizing it as both beneficial (hitam) and auspicious (śubham). This interaction highlights the mutual respect in their relationship. Rama does not dismiss his younger brother's counsel but values it, acknowledging Lakshmana’s role as a true suhṛd—one who has a good heart and offers genuine friendship.

श्रीराम लक्ष्मण की सलाह को न केवल सुनते हैं, बल्कि 'प्रतिपूज्य' (उसका आदर/अभिनंदन) करते हैं। यह एक आदर्श बड़े भाई और नेता का गुण है कि वह छोटों की सही सलाह को भी सम्मान दे। लक्ष्मण केवल भाई नहीं, 'सुहृद' (सुंदर हृदय वाले मित्र) भी हैं। श्रीराम की प्रतिक्रिया से स्पष्ट है कि लक्ष्मण का प्रयास सफल रहा और श्रीराम का विषाद कम हुआ है।
