Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नियम्य कोपम् प्रतिपाल्यताम् शरत् क्षमस्व मासान् चतुरो मया सह ।
वस अचले अस्मिन् मृग राज सेविते संवर्तयन् शत्रु वधे समर्थः ॥ ॥४-२७-४८॥
Niyamya kopam pratipālyatām śarat Kṣamasva māsān caturo mayā saha । Vasa acale asmin mṛga rāja sevite Samvartayan śatru vadhe samarthaḥ ॥ ॥4-27-48॥
Translation
Restraining your anger, wait for the autumn. Spend these four months with me patiently. Live on this mountain inhabited by lions (kings of beasts), furthering your preparation for the destruction of the enemy, for you are capable.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अपने क्रोध को रोककर शरद ऋतु की प्रतीक्षा कीजिये। मेरे साथ इन चार महीनों को क्षमा (धैर्य) पूर्वक बिताइये। सिंहों (मृगराज) से सेवित इस पर्वत पर निवास करते हुए आप शत्रु वध के लिए (साधनों/उत्साह को) एकत्रित करें, क्योंकि आप समर्थ हैं।
English Commentary
The sarga concludes with a clear plan for the Chaturmasya (four months of the rainy season). Lakshmana asks Rama to restrain his anger (niyamya kopam) and live with him on the lion-inhabited mountain. The instruction is to spend this time samvartayan (gathering/consolidating) strength and resources for the upcoming war. It is a strategic pause, turning a period of waiting into a period of preparation for the capable (samarthaḥ) warrior.

इस सर्ग का यह अंतिम श्लोक 'चातुर्मास्य' व्रत का आरंभ है। लक्ष्मण 'मासान् चतुरो' (चार महीने) की स्पष्ट समय-सीमा निर्धारित करते हैं। 'मृग राज सेविते' (सिंहों से सेवित) विशेषण पर्वत की भव्यता और भयमुक्त वातावरण को दर्शाता है। लक्ष्मण का संदेश है: क्रोध को पिएँ, समय का उपयोग शक्ति संचय में करें, और मेरे साथ रहें। यह विपत्ति काल में साथ और धैर्य का सुंदर उदाहरण है।
