रजः प्रशांतम् स हिमो अद्य वायुः निदाघ दोष प्रसराः प्रशांताः ।
स्थिता हि यात्रा वसुधा अधिपानाम् प्रवासिनो यांति नराः स्व देशान् ॥ ॥४-२८-१५॥
Rajaḥ praśāntam sa himo adya vāyuḥ nidāgha doṣa prasarāḥ praśāntāḥ । sthitā hi yātrā vasudhā adhipānām pravāsino yānti narāḥ sva deśān ॥ ॥4-28-15॥
Translation
The dust has settled, the wind is cool, and the afflictions of the summer heat have ceased. The expeditions of kings have come to a halt, and travelers living abroad are returning to their own lands.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अब धूल शांत हो गई है, वायु शीतल हो गई है, और गर्मी के दोषों का प्रसार थम गया है। राजाओं की विजय यात्राएं रुक गई हैं और परदेस गए हुए लोग अपने देशों (घरों) को लौट रहे हैं।
English Commentary
This verse captures the socio-political impact of the monsoon season. The cooling winds and settled dust mark the end of summer's harshness. Historically, military expeditions (Yatra) by kings were halted during the four months of rain (Chaturmasya) due to impassable roads. It is a time for homecoming, as travelers return to their families. The irony is palpable: while the world returns home to loved ones, Rama remains in exile, separated from his wife, observing the season that enforces a halt on his own quest.

इस श्लोक में वर्षा ऋतु के सामाजिक और राजनीतिक प्रभावों का वर्णन है। वर्षा के कारण मार्ग अवरुद्ध होने से राजाओं की 'दिग्विजय यात्रा' या सैन्य अभियान रुक जाते हैं (चातुर्मास में युद्ध निषिद्ध माने जाते थे)। ग्रीष्म ऋतु की तपन और धूल शांत हो चुकी है। यह मिलन का समय है, जब प्रवासी अपने घर लौटते हैं, किन्तु विडंबना यह है कि श्रीराम अपनी पत्नी से दूर और वन में निर्वासित हैं, जो उनकी पीड़ा को रेखांकित करता है।
