Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
व्यामिश्रितम् सर्ज कदंब पुष्पैः नवम् जलम् पर्वत धातु ताम्रम् ।
मयूर केकाभिः अनुप्रयातम् शैल अपगाः शीघ्रतरम् वहन्ति ॥ ॥४-२८-१८॥
Vyāmiśritam sarja kadamba puṣpaiḥ navam jalam parvata dhātu tāmram । mayūra kekābhiḥ anuprayātam śaila apagāḥ śīghrataram vahanti ॥ ॥4-28-18॥
Translation
The fresh rain water, copper-colored due to mountain minerals and mixed with Sarja and Kadamba flowers, flows rapidly in the mountain rivers, accompanied by the cries of peacocks.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सर्ज और कदम्ब के फूलों से मिश्रित तथा पर्वतीय धातुओं (गेरू आदि) से ताम्रवर्ण (लाल रंग) हुआ नया वर्षा का जल, मोरों की केका-ध्वनि के साथ, पर्वतीय नदियों में अत्यंत शीघ्रता से बह रहा है।
English Commentary
This verse provides a multisensory description of the mountain streams. The water is fresh but colored copper-red due to the minerals (dhatus) washed down from the mountain, carrying fallen Sarja and Kadamba flowers. The rushing visual is accompanied by the auditory backdrop of peacocks calling. The rapid flow of the rivers symbolizes the uncontrollable energy of nature during this season, creating a scene of wild, rushing beauty.

यह श्लोक वर्षा ऋतु में पर्वतीय नदियों का सजीव चित्र प्रस्तुत करता है। जल का रंग सादा नहीं है, बल्कि पहाड़ों की धातुओं (minerals) के कारण लाल/तांबे जैसा है और उसमें फूल बह रहे हैं। यह दृश्य और मोरों की आवाज (श्रव्य बिम्ब) मिलकर वातावरण को संगीतमय और वेगवान बना रहे हैं। 'शीघ्रतरम् वहन्ति' (तेजी से बहना) समय की गति और जीवन की अस्थिरता का भी द्योतक है।
