धारा निपातैः अभिहन्यमानाः कदंब शाखासु विलंबमानाः ।
क्षण अर्जितम् पुष्प रस अवगाढम् शनैर् मदम् षट् चरणाः त्यजन्ति ॥ ॥४-२८-२९॥
Dhārā nipātaiḥ abhihanyamānāḥ kadamba śākhāsu vilambamānāḥ । kṣaṇa arjitam puṣpa rasa avagāḍham śanair madam ṣaṭ caraṇāḥ tyajanti ॥ ॥4-28-29॥
Translation
Struck by the torrents of rain and hanging onto the branches of Kadamba trees, the bees slowly abandon the intoxication derived from the flower nectar they had gathered just a moment ago.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वर्षा की धाराओं की चोट से आहत होकर, कदंब की शाखाओं पर लटके हुए भौरे, उस पुष्प-रस के सेवन से उत्पन्न अपने मद (नशा/मस्ती) को धीरे-धीरे छोड़ रहे हैं, जिसे उन्होंने क्षण भर पहले ही प्राप्त किया था।
English Commentary
A minute observation of nature becomes a metaphor for lost joy. The bees, previously intoxicated by the fresh nectar of the Kadamba flowers, are now battered by heavy rain drops. They cling helplessly to the branches, their buzzing silenced and their high spirits washed away. It reflects the fragility of pleasure in the face of nature’s overwhelming power.

यहाँ एक सूक्ष्म अवलोकन है। भौरे फूलों का रस पीकर मस्त थे, लेकिन भारी बारिश ने उनकी मस्ती उतार दी है। वे भीगकर बेबस होकर शाखाओं से चिपके हुए हैं। यह जीवन की क्षणभंगुरता का भी प्रतीक है—सुख के क्षणों में अचानक विघ्न (वर्षा) आ सकता है। श्रीराम अपनी स्थिति को भी संभवतः इसमें देख रहे हैं, जहाँ राज्य-सुख के बाद अब वन के कष्ट हैं।
