कदंब सर्जा अर्जुन कंदल आढ्या वनान्त भूमि मधु वारि पूर्णा ।
मयूर मत्ता अभिरुत प्रवृत्तैः अपान भूमि प्रतिमा विभाति ॥ ॥४-२८-३४॥
Kadamba sarjā arjuna kandala āḍhyā vanānta bhūmi madhu vāri pūrṇā । mayūra mattā abhiruta pravṛttaiḥ apāna bhūmi pratimā vibhāti ॥ ॥4-28-34॥
Translation
Rich with Kadamba, Sarja, Arjuna, and Kandala flowers, and filled with sweet water, the forest ground, echoing with the calls of intoxicated peacocks, looks like a drinking hall (Apana Bhumi).
हिंदी अनुवाद
कदंब, सर्ज, अर्जुन और कंदल के फूलों से समृद्ध और मधुर जल से परिपूर्ण वन की भूमि, मोरों की मदमस्त आवाजों के कारण 'पान-भूमि' (मदिरालय/party hall) के समान सुशोभित हो रही है।
English Commentary
Rama compares the rain-soaked forest to an 'Apana Bhumi'—a drinking hall or tavern. The abundance of water mixed with flower pollen ('madhu vari'), the heavy floral scents, and the raucous cries of the 'intoxicated' peacocks recreate the atmosphere of a bustling banquet hall where nature is drunk on the season's bounty.

श्रीराम वन की तुलना 'अपान भूमि' (शराब पीने का स्थान/Tavern) से करते हैं। जैसे मदिरालय में फूलों की सजावट, पेय पदार्थ और शोर होता है, वैसे ही वन में फूलों की गंध, वर्षा का जल (मधु वारि) और मोरों का शोर है। यह उपमा वन के मादक वातावरण को दर्शाती है।
