वर्षप्रवेगा विपुला पतन्ति प्रवान्ति वाताः समुदीर्णवेगाः।
प्रनष्टकूलाः प्रवहन्ति शीघ्रं नद्यो जलं विप्रतिपन्नमार्गाः॥ ॥४-२८-४५॥
Varṣapravegā vipulā patanti pravānti vātāḥ samudīrṇavegāḥ। Pranaṣṭakūlāḥ pravahanti śīghraṃ nadyo jalaṃ vipratipannamārgāḥ॥ ॥4-28-45॥
Translation
Torrential rain falls with great force, and winds blow with intense speed. The rivers, having destroyed their banks and strayed from their usual courses, flow rapidly.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वर्षा की तीव्र और विशाल धाराएँ गिर रही हैं, हवाएँ प्रचंड वेग से बह रही हैं। नदियाँ अपने किनारों को तोड़कर, रास्ता भटककर (मार्ग बदलती हुई) तेजी से बह रही हैं।
English Commentary
The scene shifts to the chaotic energy of the storm. The combination of driving rain (varṣapravegā) and howling winds (vātāḥ) creates a dynamic landscape. The rivers are described as vipratipannamārgāḥ (taking the wrong or contrary paths). Having obliterated their banks (pranaṣṭakūlāḥ), the waters flow swiftly and unpredictably. This imagery conveys the untamable force of nature, where established boundaries are erased by the sheer volume and speed of the elements.
हिंदी टीका
यह श्लोक वर्षा ऋतु के रौद्र (furious) रूप को दिखाता है। हवा और पानी का सम्मिलित वेग इतना ज्यादा है कि नदियाँ अनुशासित नहीं रह गई हैं। 'विप्रतिपन्नमार्गाः' (रास्ता भटकी हुई) वाक्यांश महत्वपूर्ण है; जब आवेग (emotion/flow) अत्यधिक होता है, तो मर्यादा (किनारे) टूट जाती है और दिशा बदल जाती है। प्रकृति की यह अनियंत्रित ऊर्जा श्री राम के मन में सीता के प्रति उनकी अपनी तीव्र भावनाओं को भी प्रतिबिंबित करती है।
