तस्मात्कालप्रतीक्षोऽहं स्थितोऽस्मि शुभलक्ष्मण।
सुग्रीवस्य नदीनाञ्च प्रसादमभिकाङ्क्षयन्॥ ॥४-२८-६३॥
Tasmātkālapratīkṣo'haṃ sthito'smi śubhalakṣmaṇa। Sugrīvasya nadīnāñca prasādamabhikāṅkṣayan॥ ॥4-28-63॥
Translation
Therefore, O auspicious Lakshmana, I remain here waiting for the time (Autumn), desiring the grace of Sugriva and the clarity of the rivers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इसलिए, हे शुभ लक्षणों वाले लक्ष्मण! मैं सुग्रीव की और नदियों की प्रसन्नता (निर्मलता) की आकांक्षा करता हुआ, (शरद) काल की प्रतीक्षा में यहाँ स्थित हूँ।
English Commentary
Rama uses the word prasāda beautifully to cover two meanings. Regarding the rivers, prasāda means 'clarity' or 'calmness' (receding of floodwaters). Regarding Sugriva, it means 'grace' or 'favor'. Rama is patiently waiting for the environment to become navigable and for his ally to become available. Addressing Lakshmana as Śubhalakṣmaṇa (one with auspicious marks) implies that with Lakshmana by his side, the outcome will eventually be good.

यहाँ 'प्रसाद' शब्द का प्रयोग श्लेष (double entendre) के रूप में हुआ है। नदियों के संदर्भ में 'प्रसाद' का अर्थ है 'निर्मलता' (साफ पानी, बाढ़ का कम होना), और सुग्रीव के संदर्भ में इसका अर्थ है 'कृपा' या 'प्रसन्नता'। राम दोनों के शांत होने का इंतजार कर रहे हैं—नदियों का वेग कम हो ताकि यात्रा हो सके, और सुग्रीव का विलास कम हो ताकि वे कार्य कर सकें।
