समीक्ष्य विमलं व्योम गतविद्युद्बलाहकम्।
सारसाकुलसङ्घुष्टं रम्यज्योत्स्नानुलेपनम्॥ ॥४-२९-१॥
Samīkṣya vimalaṃ vyoma gatavidyudbalāhakam। Sārasākulasaṅghuṣṭaṃ ramyajyotsnānulepanam॥ ॥4-29-1॥
Translation
(Hanuman) observed the clear sky, free from lightning and clouds, echoing with the calls of Sarasa birds and smeared with delightful moonlight.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(हनुमान जी ने) देखा कि आकाश निर्मल हो गया है, बिजली और बादल चले गए हैं। वह सारस पक्षियों के शोर से गूंज रहा है और सुंदर चांदनी के लेप से पुता हुआ है।
English Commentary
The scene shifts to the arrival of Autumn. The sky is now vimala (pure/clear), devoid of the monsoon's lightning and heavy clouds. The auditory landscape changes from thunder to the cries of cranes (sārasa). Visually, the sky is described as being 'anointed' with moonlight (jyotsnānulepanam), suggesting a soothing, cooling brightness replacing the gloom of the rains. This sets the stage for Hanuman's intervention.

अब शरद ऋतु का वर्णन शुरू होता है। वर्षा के काले बादल और बिजली गायब हो गए हैं। 'रम्यज्योत्स्नानुलेपनम्' एक सुंदर उपमा है—चांदनी (ज्योत्स्ना) को एक लेप (ointment/paste) की तरह बताया गया है जिसने आकाश को उज्ज्वल कर दिया है। यहाँ से कथा का दृश्य (scene) बदलता है। अब फोकस राम से हटकर सुग्रीव की गतिविधियों पर जा रहा है, जिन्हें हनुमान देख रहे हैं।
