तस्य त्वम् कुरु वै कार्यम् पूर्वम् तेन कृतम् तव ।
हरीश्वर हरि श्रेष्ठान् आज्ञापयितुम् अर्हसि ॥ ॥४-२९-१८॥
Tasya tvam kuru vai kāryam pūrvam tena kṛtam tava |
Harīśvara hari śreṣṭhān ājñāpayitum arhasi ॥4-29-18॥
Translation
"You must indeed perform his task, as he has done yours previously. O Lord of Monkeys, you ought to command the best of the monkeys (to assemble)."

"उन (राम) का कार्य आप अवश्य करें, (क्योंकि) उन्होंने पहले आपका कार्य किया है। हे वानरेश्वर! आप वानर-श्रेष्ठों (सेनापतियों) को आज्ञा देने योग्य हैं।"
English Commentary
The dialogue culminates in a direct call to action based on reciprocity. "He did yours, now you do his." This creates a binding moral contract. Hanuman addresses Sugriva as Harishvara (Lord of Monkeys) again, not to flatter, but to legitimize the action he is requesting: issuing mobilization orders. The phrase Ajnapayitum arhasi (you ought to command) signifies that the time for deliberation is over; it is time to exercise royal authority to summon the Hari-shreshthan (chiefs of the monkeys) for the war effort.

यह अंतिम श्लोक (इस खंड का) 'कृतघ्नता' से बचने का सीधा आह्वान है। लेन-देन का नियम स्पष्ट है: 'पूर्वम् तेन कृतम् तव' (उसने पहले तुम्हारा काम किया), अब तुम्हारी बारी है। हनुमान जी सुग्रीव को 'हरीश्वर' कहकर उनकी सत्ता को ललकारते हैं कि वे अब राजा हैं, उन्हें अपनी शक्ति का प्रयोग भोग में नहीं, बल्कि सेना को एकत्र करने में करना चाहिए। 'आज्ञापयितुम् अर्हसि'—अब आदेश देने का समय आ गया है। यहाँ से सुग्रीव की तंद्रा टूटने की प्रक्रिया आरंभ होती है।
