हरीश्वरम् उपागम्य हनुमान् वाक्यम् अब्रवीत् ।
राज्यम् प्राप्तम् यशः चैव कौली श्रीः अभिवर्थिता ॥ ॥४-२९-९॥
Harīśvaram upāgamya hanumān vākyam abravīt |
Rājyam prāptam yaśaḥ caiva kaulī śrīḥ abhivarthitā ॥4-29-9॥
Translation
Approaching the Lord of Monkeys, Hanuman spoke these words: "You have obtained the kingdom and fame, and the prosperity of your family line has been enhanced."

वानरराज के समीप जाकर हनुमान जी ने यह वचन कहा: "आपने राज्य और यश प्राप्त कर लिया है, और आपकी कुल-लक्ष्मी (पैतृक संपत्ति/समृद्धि) की भी वृद्धि हुई है।"
English Commentary
Hanuman begins his counsel by acknowledging Sugriva's current status and success. This is psychologically astute; before pointing out a deficit in behavior, he validates the King's achievements. By mentioning the recovery of the kingdom, fame, and Kauli Shri (ancestral prosperity/glory), Hanuman reminds Sugriva of how far he has come from his days of exile. Addressing him as Harishvara (Lord of Monkeys) reinforces his authority but also subtly hints at the heavy responsibility that comes with such a title. This positive opening sets the stage for the crucial reminder of the 'unpaid debt' to Rama that follows.

अपनी बात शुरू करते हुए हनुमान जी सबसे पहले सुग्रीव की वर्तमान सफलताओं को स्वीकार करते हैं। यह मनोवैज्ञानिक दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण है। पहले सुग्रीव को यह अहसास दिलाया गया कि वे अब सुरक्षित और संपन्न हैं। 'कौली श्रीः' का अर्थ है कुल की लक्ष्मी या शोभा, जिसे सुग्रीव ने पुनः प्राप्त किया है। यह स्मरण दिलाना कि सुग्रीव अब 'हरीश्वर' (वानरों के स्वामी) हैं, उन्हें उनके उच्च पद और उससे जुड़ी जिम्मेदारियों के लिए तैयार करने का एक तरीका है। सुग्रीव की उपलब्धियों को रेखांकित करके हनुमान जी अगले श्लोक में आने वाले 'कर्तव्य' की भूमिका तैयार कर रहे हैं।
