खड्गौ एतौ विराजेते निर्मुक्त भुजगौ इव ।
एवम् माम् परिभाषन्तम् कस्माद् वै न अभि भाषतः ॥ ॥४-३-१९॥
Khaḍgau etau virājete nirmukta bhujagau iva |
Evam mām paribhāṣantam kasmād vai na abhi bhāṣataḥ ॥4-3-19॥
Translation
These two swords shine like serpents that have cast off their slough. Why do you not speak to me, who has been speaking to you in this manner?
हिंदी अनुवाद
ये दोनों खड्ग केंचुली छोड़े हुए साँपों के समान सुशोभित हो रहे हैं। मैं आपसे इस प्रकार (इतनी देर से) बातें कर रहा हूँ, फिर भी आप मुझसे बात क्यों नहीं कर रहे हैं?
English Commentary
The simile of the swords as snakes shedding their skin implies they are gleaming, fresh, and ready to strike. After this exhaustive physical and martial inventory, Hanuman breaks the descriptive flow. He addresses the social dynamic: he has been praising and questioning them, yet they remain silent. 'Kasmad vai na abhi bhashatah' is a direct appeal for engagement. It shows Hanuman's skill as a diplomat—he has offered praise (stuti) and established his observation skills; now he demands a reciprocal gesture to initiate the relationship.

तलवारों की चमक की तुलना 'निर्मुक्त भुजगौ' (नई त्वचा वाले सांप) से करना उनकी तीक्ष्णता और चमक को दर्शाता है। यहाँ तक वर्णन करने के बाद, हनुमान जी विषय बदलते हैं। वे अब तक एकतरफा बोल रहे थे, श्रीराम और लक्ष्मण मौन थे। अब हनुमान जी सीधे संवाद की मांग करते हैं। 'कस्माद् वै न अभि भाषतः' (क्यों नहीं बोलते?)—यह प्रश्न उनके आत्मविश्वास को दिखाता है। वे भिक्षु वेश में हैं, अतः सम्मान के हकदार हैं। श्रीराम का मौन उनकी गंभीरता को दर्शाता है, वे तुरंत किसी अजनबी पर भरोसा नहीं करते। यह श्लोक हनुमान जी के धैर्य की सीमा और संवाद शुरू करने की उत्सुकता को प्रकट करता है।
