सिंह विप्रेक्षितौ वीरौ महाबल पराक्रमौ ।
शक्र चाप निभे चापे गृहीत्वा शत्रु नाशनौ ॥ ॥४-३-९॥
Siṃha viprekṣitau vīrau mahābala parākramau । Śakra cāpa nibhe cāpe gṛhītvā śatru nāśanau ॥ ॥4-3-9॥
Translation
"You possess the gaze of a lion, O heroes of great strength and valor. Holding bows that resemble Indra's rainbow (or thunderbolt), you appear to be destroyers of enemies."

"आपकी दृष्टि सिंह के समान (निडर) है, आप महाबल और पराक्रम से युक्त वीर हैं। इन्द्रधनुष (शक्र चाप) के समान विशाल धनुष धारण किए हुए आप शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले प्रतीत होते हैं।"
English Commentary
Hanuman concludes his initial observation by focusing on their martial prowess. Despite the bark robes, their warrior nature is evident in their Simha viprekshitau (lion-like glance)—confident and regal. He identifies their weaponry as exceptional, comparing their bows to Shakra capa (Indra’s bow/rainbow), signifying divine quality. By labeling them Shatru nashanau (destroyers of enemies), Hanuman acknowledges their lethality. He has successfully identified them as high-born warriors capable of immense destruction, validating Sugriva's need for caution while simultaneously admiring them.
