क्रियाभियोगम् मनसः प्रसादम् समाधि योग अनुगतम् च कालम् ।
न जानकी मानव वंश नाथ त्वया सनाथा सुलभा परेण ।
न च अग्नि चूडाम् ज्वलिताम् उपेत्य न दह्यते वीर वरार्ह कश्चित् ॥ ॥४-३०-१७॥
Kriyābhiyogam manasaḥ prasādam Samādhi yoga anugatam ca kālam |
Na jānakī mānava vaṃśa nātha Tvayā sanāthā sulabhā pareṇa |
Na ca agni cūḍām jvalitām upetya Na dahyate vīra varārha kaścit ॥4-30-17॥
Translation
Apply yourself to action, keep the mind cheerful, and adopt concentration and means suitable to the time. O Lord of the human lineage, Janaki, having you as her protector, is not easily attainable by another. O best of heroes, no one touches a blazing crest of fire without getting burned.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(हे वीर, आप) कर्म में जुट जाएँ, मन को प्रसन्न (शांत) रखें, और एकाग्रता (समाधि) तथा काल के अनुसार उपाय (योग) का अवलंबन करें। हे मानव वंश के स्वामी! आपके द्वारा सुरक्षित (सनाथ) जानकी को कोई दूसरा आसानी से प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता। हे वीरवर! जलती हुई अग्नि की शिखा के पास जाकर कोई भी बिना जले नहीं बच सकता (अर्थात् सीता अग्नि शिखा के समान हैं)।
English Commentary
Lakshmana offers a strategic and emotional roadmap. First, he advises Rama to focus on Kriya (action), maintain Manasa-prasadam (clarity/cheerfulness of mind), and align his efforts with the timing (Kalam). Secondly, he reinforces Rama's stature as the 'Lord of the human lineage,' reminding him that Sita is Sanatha (husbanded/protected) by Rama's mere existence and reputation. Finally, Lakshmana uses a powerful metaphor: Sita is like a blazing crest of fire. Just as fire burns anyone who touches it, Sita’s innate chastity and spiritual power make her untouchable to enemies. This assurance is intended to quell Rama's anxiety about Sita's safety and purity, motivating him to channel his grief into martial resolve.

इस श्लोक में लक्ष्मण तीन महत्वपूर्ण बातें कहते हैं: 1) कर्म करने का संकल्प (क्रियाभियोग), 2) मन की प्रसन्नता और धैर्य, और 3) समय के अनुकूल आचरण। वे राम को आश्वस्त करते हैं कि सीता सुरक्षित हैं। वे कहते हैं कि सीता 'सनाथ' हैं क्योंकि राम उनके रक्षक हैं। लक्ष्मण सीता जी की पवित्रता और तेजस्विता की तुलना 'अग्नि शिखा' (आग की लपट) से करते हैं। जैसे आग को छूने वाला जल जाता है, वैसे ही सीता के प्रति कुदृष्टि रखने वाला कोई भी शत्रु नष्ट हो जाएगा। यह उपमा राम के मन से इस भय को निकालने के लिए दी गई है कि सीता किसी पराये के वश में हो गई होंगी। लक्ष्मण का यह कथन राम में आत्मविश्वास और आशा का संचार करने के लिए है।
