Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अभिवृष्टा महा मेघैः निर्मलाः चित्र सानवः ।
अनुलिप्ता इव आभान्ति गिरयः चन्द्र रश्मिभिः ॥ ॥४-३०-२६॥
Abhivṛṣṭā mahā meghaiḥ nirmalāḥ citra sānavāḥ |
Anuliptā iva ābhānti girayaḥ candra raśmibhiḥ ॥4-30-26॥
Translation
Washed by great clouds, the mountains with their pristine and variegated peaks now appear as if anointed (smeared) with moonbeams.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महामेघों द्वारा वर्षा से धोए गए, निर्मल और विचित्र शिखरों वाले पर्वत, चन्द्रमा की किरणों से लिपे (पुते) हुए से प्रतीत होते हैं (चमक रहे हैं)।
English Commentary
This verse paints a striking visual of the autumn night. The heavy rains of the past months have acted as a cleansing agent, washing the mountains clean (Nirmalah). Now, under the clear autumn sky, the moonlight reflects off these clean, multi-colored peaks (Citra sanavah). The poet uses the metaphor of Anulipta (anointed/smeared), suggesting the mountains are dressed for a festival, coated in the cool, silvery balm of moonlight. This signifies purity and the restoration of beauty after the battering of the storms.
हिंदी टीका
यहाँ दृश्य बिंब (Visual imagery) अत्यंत सुंदर है। वर्षा ऋतु में बादलों ने पर्वतों को धोकर साफ़ (निर्मल) कर दिया है। अब धूल-मिट्टी नहीं है। शरद ऋतु की स्वच्छ चांदनी जब इन साफ़ शिखरों पर पड़ती है, तो ऐसा लगता है जैसे किसी ने उन पर श्वेत चंदन का लेप (अनुलिप्ता) लगा दिया हो। यह प्रकृति का श्रृंगार है। 'चित्र सानवः' बताता है कि पर्वतों में विभिन्न धातुओं (गेरू आदि) के कारण अनेक रंग हैं, जो चांदनी में और अधिक चमक रहे हैं। यह श्लोक शरद पूर्णिमा की उज्ज्वल रातों का पूर्वाभास देता है।
