व्यक्तं नभः शस्त्रविधौतवर्णं कृशप्रवाहानि नदीजलानि ।
कह्लारशीताः पवनाः प्रवान्ति तमोविमुक्ताश्च दिशः प्रकाशाः ॥४-३०-३५॥
vyaktaṃ nabhaḥ śastravidhautavarṇaṃ kṛśapravāhāni nadījalāni |
kahlāraśītāḥ pavanāḥ pravānti tamovimuktāśca diśaḥ prakāśāḥ ॥4-30-35॥
Translation
The sky has become clear, resembling the color of a polished weapon. The flow of river waters has become thin. Breezes cool from the touch of white water-lilies are blowing, and the directions, freed from darkness, are now bright.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आकाश अब बादलों से रहित होकर साफ किए हुए शस्त्र के रंग जैसा (निर्मल) हो गया है। नदियों के जल का प्रवाह क्षीण (पतला) हो गया है। श्वेत कमलों (कह्लार) के स्पर्श से शीतल हवा बह रही है और दिशाएं अंधकार से मुक्त होकर प्रकाशित हो उठी हैं।
English Commentary
Describing the clarity of autumn after the monsoon clouds have dispersed, Rama compares the sky to a shastravidhautavarnam (polished weapon). This simile not only captures the clear blue-black hue of the sky but also subtly alludes to Rama's warrior nature and the impending battle. The directions being free from darkness indicates that the paths are now clear for travel and military expeditions. Nature has removed all obstacles for Sugriva to commence the search for Sita, yet the delay continues, which serves as a subtle undercurrent to this description of beauty.
हिंदी टीका
वर्षा ऋतु के मेघों के छंट जाने के बाद शरद ऋतु की निर्मलता का वर्णन करते हुए श्री राम आकाश की तुलना 'शस्त्रविधौतवर्णं' (साफ किए हुए शस्त्र) से करते हैं। यह उपमा न केवल आकाश के नीले-श्याम रंग को दर्शाती है, बल्कि राम के क्षत्रिय धर्म और आसन्न युद्ध की ओर भी संकेत करती है। दिशाओं का अंधकार मुक्त होना इस बात का सूचक है कि अब यात्रा और अभियान के लिए मार्ग प्रशस्त हो गया है। सुग्रीव द्वारा सीता की खोज शुरू करने के लिए अब कोई प्राकृतिक बाधा शेष नहीं है, फिर भी विलंब हो रहा है, जो राम की चिंता का विषय है।
