दृष्ट्वा च विमलम् व्योम गत विद्युत् बलाहकम् ।
सारस आरव संघुष्टम् विललाप आर्तया गिरा ॥ ॥४-३०-५॥
dṛṣṭvā ca vimalam vyoma gata vidyut balāhakam |
sārasa ārava saṃghuṣṭam vilalāpa ārtayā girā ॥4-30-5॥
Translation
Seeing the clear sky, bereft of lightning and clouds and resonating with the calls of Sarasa birds (cranes), he lamented in a distressed voice.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बिजली और बादलों से रहित तथा सारस पक्षियों की ध्वनि से गूंजते हुए निर्मल आकाश को देखकर, राम दुःखी वाणी में विलाप करने लगे।
English Commentary
In the rainy season, the sky is full of lightning and clouds, which can be formidable, but in autumn, the sky is 'vimala' (clean/clear). The call of the 'Sarasa' birds is considered a symbol of love and romance. When Rama sees this beauty and hears these sounds, he is reminded of happy moments spent with Sita. 'Artaya gira' (pained voice) shows that external beauty is reopening his internal wounds. The joy of nature deepens his personal melancholy.

वर्षा ऋतु में आकाश में बिजली और बादल होते हैं, जो भयावह हो सकते हैं, किन्तु शरद ऋतु में आकाश 'विमल' (स्वच्छ) होता है। 'सारस' पक्षियों का कलरव प्रेम और शृंगार का प्रतीक माना जाता है। जब राम इस सुंदरता को देखते हैं और सुनते हैं, तो उन्हें सीता के साथ बिताए सुखद क्षण याद आते हैं। 'आर्तया गिरा' (पीड़ित वाणी) दर्शाती है कि बाहरी सौंदर्य उनके भीतरी घावों को हरा कर रहा है। प्रकृति का उल्लास उनके व्यक्तिगत विषाद को और गहरा कर देता है।
