या पुरा कलहंसानाम् स्वरेण कल भाषिणी ।
बुध्यते चारु सर्वांगी सा अद्य मे रमते कथम् ॥ ॥४-३०-९॥
yā purā kalahaṃsānām svareṇa kala bhāṣiṇī |
budhyate cāru sarvāngī sā adya me ramate katham ॥4-30-9॥
Translation
"She of beautiful limbs, who formerly used to awaken to the voice of the Kalahamsa swans, speaking as sweetly as they do—how does she delight today without me?"
हिंदी अनुवाद
"सुंदर अंगों वाली जो सीता पहले कलहंसों (राजहंसों) के स्वर के समान मधुर बोलती हुई (उनके स्वर से) जागती थी, वह आज मेरे बिना कैसे सुख पाती होगी?"
English Commentary
Rama is recalling the daily routine of their exile days. Waking up to the sound of swans and hearing Sita's sweet voice is etched in his memory. The adjective 'Charu sarvangi' (beautiful in all limbs) expresses Rama's attraction to Sita's physical beauty and delicacy. 'Kala bhashini' (sweet-speaking) re-emphasizes the softness of her speech. Rama's worry is how Sita, who was accustomed to such a pleasant environment, is now surviving in the harsh environment amidst demons.

राम अपने वनवास के दिनों की दिनचर्या याद कर रहे हैं। सुबह राजहंसों की आवाज़ से जागना और सीता का मधुर स्वर सुनना उनकी स्मृति में बसा है। 'चारु सर्वांगी' (सुंदर अंगों वाली) विशेषण सीता के शारीरिक सौंदर्य और सुकुमारता के प्रति राम के आकर्षण को व्यक्त करता है। 'कल भाषिणी' (मधुर बोलने वाली) सीता की वाणी की मृदुता को पुनः रेखांकित करता है। राम की चिंता यह है कि जो सीता इतने सुखद वातावरण की आदी थी, वह अब राक्षसों के बीच कठोर वातावरण में कैसे जीवित है।
