लक्ष्मणस्य वचः श्रुत्वा शोकाविष्टो अंगदो अब्रवीत् ।
पितुः समीपम् आगम्य सौमित्रिः अयम् आगतः ॥ ॥४-३१-३५॥
lakṣmaṇasya vacaḥ śrutvā śokāviṣṭo aṃgado abravīt |
pituḥ samīpam āgamya saumitriḥ ayam āgataḥ ॥4-31-35॥
Translation
Hearing Lakshmana's words, Angada, filled with sorrow, went near his father and said, "This son of Sumitra (Lakshmana) has arrived."
हिंदी अनुवाद
लक्ष्मण के वचन सुनकर शोक से भरे हुए अंगद ने अपने पिता (सुग्रीव) के पास जाकर कहा—"ये सुमित्रानंदन (लक्ष्मण) आ गए हैं।"
English Commentary
Angada is described as śokāviṣṭaḥ (overwhelmed by sorrow/anxiety). He comprehends the gravity of the situation that his father fails to see. The potential wrath of Rama and Lakshmana could mean the end of their race. His announcement to his father is stark and direct: "Saumitri (Lakshmana) is here." There is no preamble, reflecting the urgency; the time for diplomatic pleasantries has passed, and immediate action is required to avert disaster.

अंगद की मानसिक स्थिति 'शोकाविष्टः' (शोक/चिंता से ग्रस्त) है। वे स्थिति की गंभीरता को समझते हैं। वे जानते हैं कि राम और लक्ष्मण का क्रोध किष्किन्धा के विनाश का कारण बन सकता है। पिता के पास जाकर उनका सीधा कथन—"सौमित्रिः अयम् आगतः" (यह लक्ष्मण आ गए हैं)—बिना किसी भूमिका के है, जो यह दर्शाता है कि अब कूटनीतिक बातों का समय निकल चुका है और संकट द्वार पर खड़ा है।
