स संगृह्य पादौ पितुः उग्रतेजा जग्राह मातुः पुनर् एव पादौ ।
पादौ रुमायाः च निपीडयित्वा निवेदयामास ततः तत् अर्थम् ॥ ॥४-३१-३७॥
saṃgṛhya pādau pituḥ ugratejā jagrāha mātuḥ punar eva pādau |
pādau rumāyāḥ ca nipīḍayitvā nivedayāmāsa tataḥ tat artham ॥4-31-37॥
Translation
Clasping the feet of his father, the fiercely energetic Angada then held the feet of his mother, and having pressed (touched respectfully) the feet of Ruma, he communicated that matter.

उग्र तेज वाले अंगद ने पिता के चरण पकड़कर, फिर माता (तारा) के चरण पकड़े और फिर रुमा के चरणों को दबाकर (स्पर्श करके) तब वह बात (लक्ष्मण के आगमन का समाचार) निवेदन की।
English Commentary
The verb nipīḍayitvā (pressing firming/clasping) conveys Angada's desperation. He is not merely offering obeisance; he is physically trying to rouse Sugriva from his stupor through tactile intensity. The verse mentions touching the feet of the father, the mother (Tara), and Ruma, indicating that the key royal family members were present. Angada seeks to alert the entire inner circle, as the danger threatens them all, before finally delivering the grave news of Lakshmana's ultimatum.

यहाँ 'निपीडयित्वा' (जोर से दबाकर/पकड़कर) शब्द का प्रयोग अंगद की व्यग्रता को दर्शाता है। वे केवल आदर नहीं कर रहे, बल्कि शारीरिक स्पर्श के माध्यम से सुग्रीव को उनकी तंद्रा से जगाने का प्रयास भी कर रहे हैं। यहाँ तीन लोगों का उल्लेख है—पिता (सुग्रीव), माता (तारा - जो संभवतः पास ही थीं), और रुमा। अंगद पूरे परिवार को सचेत कर रहे हैं क्योंकि खतरा सब पर है। इसके बाद उन्होंने लक्ष्मण का संदेश सुनाया।
