सुग्रीवेण एवम् उक्ते तु हनुमान् हरि पुंगवः ।
उवाच स्वेन तर्केण मध्ये वानर मंत्रिणाम् ॥४-३२-९॥
Sugrīveṇa evam ukte tu hanumān hari puṅgavaḥ । Uvāca svena tarkeṇa madhye vānara mantriṇām ॥ ॥4-32-9॥
Translation
Upon Sugriva speaking thus, Hanuman, the best of monkeys, spoke with his own logic amidst the gathering of monkey ministers.

सुग्रीव के ऐसा कहने पर, वानरों में श्रेष्ठ हनुमान ने अन्य वानर मंत्रियों के मध्य अपने तर्क (विवेक/बुद्धि) का प्रयोग करते हुए कहा।
English Commentary
This verse serves as a narrative bridge, transitioning from Sugriva’s paralysis of fear to constructive counsel. Hanuman is described as Hari Pungavah (Best of Monkeys) and Mantri (Minister), highlighting his dual role as a superior being and a responsible state official. The phrase svena tarkena (with his own logic/reasoning) is critical. It implies that Hanuman is using independent judgment. He is not merely echoing the King's sentiments to please him, nor is he paralyzed by the arrival of Lakshmana. He assesses the situation using logic and intellect. Speaking "amidst the ministers" signifies a formal council setting where Hanuman takes the lead. He recognizes that Sugriva's fear is irrational and counter-productive. Therefore, he steps in to reframe the situation, acting as the stabilizing force that guides the leadership back to a path of righteousness and action.

यह श्लोक कथा के प्रवाह को बदलता है। अब तक दृश्य में सुग्रीव का भय प्रधान था, अब हनुमान का विवेक (wisdom) प्रवेश करता है। 'हरि पुंगवः' (वानरों में श्रेष्ठ) विशेषण का प्रयोग यहाँ हनुमान की योग्यता और गंभीरता को स्थापित करने के लिए किया गया है। महत्वपूर्ण वाक्यांश 'स्वेन तर्केण' है, जिसका अर्थ है 'अपने स्वयं के तर्क से'। हनुमान केवल सुग्रीव की हाँ में हाँ नहीं मिलाते, न ही वे केवल शास्त्र दोहराते हैं; वे परिस्थिति का आकलन अपनी तीक्ष्ण बुद्धि से करते हैं। मंत्रियों के बीच बोलना यह दर्शाता है कि संकट के समय सही परामर्श देना एक मंत्री का परम धर्म है। हनुमान यहाँ एक कूटनीतिज्ञ (Diplomat) की भूमिका में हैं जो जानते हैं कि राजा जब भयभीत हो और तर्कहीन बातें कर रहा हो, तो उसे कैसे संभाला जाए। वे सुग्रीव के भय को तार्किक रूप से शांत करने का प्रयास करने वाले हैं।
