Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
महेन्द्र दत्तैः श्रीमद्भिः नील जीमूत संनिभैः ।
दिव्य पुष्प फलैः वृक्षैः शीत च्छायैः मनोरमैः ॥४-३३-१६॥
Mahendra dattaiḥ śrīmadbhiḥ nīla jīmūta saṃnibhaiḥ । Divya puṣpa phalaiḥ vṛkṣaiḥ śīta cchāyaiḥ manoramaiḥ ॥ ॥4-33-16॥
Translation
It was surrounded by beautiful trees given by Mahendra, resembling blue clouds, bearing divine flowers and fruits, and providing cool, pleasing shade.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(वह महल) महेंद्र (इंद्र) द्वारा दिए गए, शोभायमान, नीले बादलों के समान दिखने वाले, दिव्य पुष्प और फलों से युक्त तथा शीतल छाया देने वाले मनोरम वृक्षों से घिरा था।
English Commentary
The supernatural origin of the flora is revealed—they are gifts from Indra. This validates the status of the Vanara King as a subordinate ally of the Gods.
The trees are described as resembling "blue clouds" (nila jimuta), a poetic way to describe lush, dark green foliage that blocks out the sun, creating shita chhayai (cool shade). This creates a sanctuary of eternal comfort. The environment is engineered for pleasure and relaxation, standing in direct conflict with the harsh penance and urgency required for Rama's mission.

यहाँ स्पष्ट किया गया है कि ये वृक्ष साधारण नहीं हैं, बल्कि 'महेन्द्र दत्तैः' (इंद्र द्वारा उपहार में दिए गए) हैं। यह किष्किंधा की अलौकिकता की पुष्टि करता है।
वृक्षों का रंग 'नील जीमूत' (नीले बादल) जैसा बताया गया है, जो बहुत घने और हरे-भरे (गहरे हरे) होने का संकेत है। 'शीत च्छायैः' (ठंडी छाया) बताती है कि महल के भीतर का तापमान नियंत्रित और सुखद था। बाहर की गर्मी और कष्टों से यह स्थान पूरी तरह सुरक्षित (Insulated) है। यह सुग्रीव के 'Comfort Zone' का वर्णन है जिसे उन्हें अब छोड़ना होगा।
