इति एवम् उक्त्वा वचनम् महार्थम् सा वानरी लक्ष्मणम् अप्रमेयम् ।
पुनः स खेदम् मद विह्वलाक्षी भर्तुर् हितम् वाक्यम् इदम् बभाषे ॥ ॥४-३३-५८॥
iti evam uktvā vacanam mahārtham sā vānarī lakṣmaṇam aprameyam |
punaḥ sa khedam mada vihvalākṣī bhartur hitam vākyam idam babhāṣe ॥4-33-58॥
Translation
Having spoken these words of great significance to the immeasurable Lakshmana, that female Vanara (Tara), though her eyes were rolling due to intoxication, spoke again with regret (for the delay), uttering words beneficial to her husband.

उस वानरी (तारा) ने असीम शक्ति वाले लक्ष्मण से ऐसे महत्वपूर्ण वचन कहकर, मदिरा के कारण विह्वल नेत्रों वाली होते हुए भी, पुनः खेद प्रकट करते हुए अपने पति के हित में यह बात कही।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the contrast between Tara's physical state and her mental acuity. Despite being intoxicated ('mada vihvalākṣī' - eyes agitated by wine), her focus remains sharp on her duty as a wife and queen. The text describes her words as 'mahārtham' (of great meaning/substance), indicating that she is not rambling drunkenly but speaking with calculated intent. She adopts a humble tone ('sa khedam' - with regret) regarding the delay in searching for Sita, acknowledging the grievance before defending her husband further. यद्यपि तारा मदिरा के प्रभाव में है और उसकी आँखें विह्वल हो रही हैं, तथापि उसकी बुद्धि पूर्णतः जाग्रत और अपने पति के रक्षण में तत्पर है। 'महार्थम्' शब्द इंगित करता है कि उसकी बातें निरर्थक प्रलाप नहीं, बल्कि गहरे अर्थ वाली थीं। वह लक्ष्मण के सामने 'स खेदम्' (खेद पूर्वक) बात करती है, जो उसकी विनम्रता को दर्शाता है। एक पत्नी के रूप में, वह अपने पति की ढाल बन रही है। वह जानती है कि लक्ष्मण का क्रोध सुग्रीव के प्राणों के लिए संकट बन सकता है, इसलिए वह अपनी शारीरिक अवस्था की परवाह न करते हुए, मानसिक संतुलन बनाए रखती है और ऐसे वचन बोलती है जो सुग्रीव के पक्ष को मजबूत करें और लक्ष्मण को आश्वस्त करें।
