अंगदस्य गृहम् रम्यम् मैन्दस्य द्विविदस्य च ।
गवयस्य गवाक्षस्य गजस्य शरभस्य च ॥४-३३-९॥
Aṅgadasya gṛham ramyam maindasya dvividasya ca । Gavayasya gavākṣasya gajasya śarabhasya ca ॥ ॥4-33-9॥
Translation
(Lakshmana saw) the beautiful mansion of Angada, as well as the homes of Mainda, Dvivida, Gavaya, Gavaksha, Gaja, and Sharabha.

(लक्ष्मण ने) अंगद के सुंदर भवन को, तथा मैन्द, द्विविद, गवय, गवाक्ष, गज और शरभ के भवनों को देखा।
English Commentary
Valmiki provides a roll call of the Vanara elite. As Lakshmana proceeds along the royal highway towards the palace, he passes the residences of the top generals. Angada, being the Crown Prince (Yuvaraja), is mentioned first with the descriptor ramyam (beautiful).
This list includes legendary warriors like Mainda and Dvivida. Geographically, this layout signifies that the King is surrounded by his most trusted and powerful commanders, acting as a buffer. For Lakshmana, walking past these homes is a visual assessment of the enemy's (or ally's) strength. It emphasizes that he is walking into the heart of a fortified military state, yet he remains undeterred.

यहाँ वाल्मीकि किष्किंधा के 'वीआईपी' क्षेत्र का वर्णन कर रहे हैं। लक्ष्मण राजमहल की ओर बढ़ रहे हैं और रास्ते में प्रमुख सेनापतियों के घर पड़ते हैं। अंगद युवराज हैं, इसलिए उनका नाम सबसे पहले और 'रम्यम्' (सुंदर) विशेषण के साथ आया है।
