Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रसादये त्वाम् धर्मज्ञ सुग्रीवार्थे समाहिता ।
महान् रोष समुत्पन्नः संरंभः त्यज्यताम् अयम् ॥ ॥४-३५-१२॥
Prāsadaye tvām dharmajña Sugrīvārthe samāhitā । Mahān roṣa samutpannaḥ saṃrambhaḥ tyajyatām ayam ॥ ॥4-35-12॥
Translation
O knower of Dharma, with a composed mind, I propitiate you on behalf of Sugriva; please abandon this great anger and agitation that has arisen.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे धर्मज्ञ! मैं सुग्रीव के हित के लिए एकाग्रचित्त होकर आपसे विनती करती हूँ (आपको प्रसन्न करती हूँ); आप अपने इस महान् क्रोध और आवेश को त्याग दें।
English Commentary
Tara explicitly assumes the role of a mediator and protector. Calling Lakshmana "Dharmajña" (knower of righteousness), she implies that maintaining an alliance and showing mercy are compliant with Dharma. She describes herself as "Samahita" (composed/focused), indicating that her plea is not a frantic cry of a frightened wife, but a calculated diplomatic intervention. She directly asks him to drop his "Samrambha" (agitation/fury). This verse marks the transition from justification to a direct plea for peace, leveraging her dignity and respectful demeanor to diffuse the tension.
