दोषज्ञः सति सामर्थ्ये को अन्यो भाषितुम् अर्हति ।
वर्जयित्वा मम ज्येष्ठम् त्वाम् च वानर सत्तम ॥ ॥४-३६-१७॥
Doṣajñaḥ sati sāmarthye ko anyo bhāṣitum arhati |
Varjayitvā mama jyeṣṭham tvām ca vānara sattama ॥4-36-17॥
Translation
O best of monkeys! Except for my eldest brother and you, who else is capable of speaking thus (admitting faults) while possessing such power?

हे वानरश्रेष्ठ! मेरे बड़े भाई (राम) और आपको छोड़कर, ऐसा कौन है जो समर्थ होते हुए भी अपनी गलती (दोष) को जान सके और स्वीकार कर सके?
English Commentary
This is the highest compliment Lakshmana can pay: comparing Sugriva to Rama. He defines true greatness not just as having power (Samarthye), but as having the self-awareness to admit faults (Doshajnah). He asserts that only two people possess this rare combination of might and humility: Rama and Sugriva. This elevates Sugriva to the status of a brother and a peer, completely healing the rift caused by the earlier threats.

यह सुग्रीव के लिए सबसे बड़ी प्रशंसा है। लक्ष्मण सुग्रीव की तुलना सीधे श्रीराम से करते हैं। 'दोषज्ञ' का अर्थ है जो अपने दोषों को जानता है। अक्सर सत्ता और शक्ति आने पर व्यक्ति अपनी गलतियाँ नहीं मानता। लक्ष्मण कहते हैं कि केवल राम और सुग्रीव ही ऐसे हैं जो शक्तिशाली ('सति सामर्थ्ये') होने के बावजूद विनम्र हैं। यह तुलना सुग्रीव के प्रति लक्ष्मण के गहरे सम्मान को दर्शाती है।
