Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
संचिंत्यताम् हि पिंगेश हरिभिः सह मंत्रिभिः ।
एवम् उक्तः तु सुग्रीवो रामम् वचनम् अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥४-३८-२४॥
Saṃcintyatām hi piṃgeśa haribhiḥ saha maṃtribhiḥ |
Evam uktaḥ tu sugrīvo rāmam vacanam abravīt ॥4-38-24॥
Translation
"O Lord of the Monkeys, please deliberate with your monkey ministers." Being addressed thus, Sugriva spoke these words to Rama.
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे वानरराज! अपने वानर मंत्रियों के साथ मंत्रणा (विचार-विमर्श) करें।" इस प्रकार कहे जाने पर सुग्रीव ने श्रीराम से यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
This verse marks the transition from the tension of the previous encounter (where Lakshmana was furious) to constructive planning. The term Pingesha refers to the Lord of the tawny-colored ones (monkeys). Having been advised to consult with his ministers regarding the search for Sita, Sugriva turns his address directly to Rama. This indicates that while Lakshmana was the conduit for the earlier reprimand, Sugriva recognizes Rama as the supreme authority and the ultimate benefactor. It sets the stage for Sugriva's formal declaration of loyalty and the mobilization of his forces.

यह श्लोक उस संदर्भ में है जहाँ लक्ष्मण के क्रोध के शांत होने के बाद अब कार्य की रूपरेखा तैयार की जा रही है। यहाँ 'पिंगेश' (वानरों के स्वामी) शब्द का प्रयोग सुग्रीव के लिए किया गया है। लक्ष्मण या राम द्वारा विचार-विमर्श का निर्देश पाकर सुग्रीव अब अपनी स्थिति स्पष्ट करते हैं। यह श्लोक संवाद की दिशा को 'भय और क्रोध' से बदलकर 'रणनीति और सहयोग' की ओर ले जाता है। सुग्रीव का उत्तर श्रीराम के प्रति सम्मान और अपनी कृतज्ञता को प्रकट करने वाला है, जो अगले श्लोकों में स्पष्ट होता है। यह एक राजा द्वारा दूसरे राजा को दी गई सलाह और उसके उत्तर का शिष्टाचार पूर्ण निर्वाह है।
