ततो नगेन्द्र संकाशैः तीक्ष्ण दन्ष्ट्रैः महाबलैः ।
कृत्स्ना संछादिता भूमिः असंख्येयैः प्लवंगमैः ॥ ॥४-३९-१०॥
Tato nagendra saṃkāśaiḥ tīkṣṇa daṃṣṭraiḥ mahābalaiḥ |
Kṛtsnā saṃchāditā bhūmiḥ asaṃkhyeyaiḥ plavaṃgamaiḥ ॥4-39-10॥
Translation
Then, the entire earth was covered by countless monkeys who resembled huge mountains, possessed sharp teeth, and were endowed with great strength.

तदनन्तर, पर्वतों के समान विशाल, तीखे दांतों वाले और महाबलशाली असंख्य वानरों से पूरी पृथ्वी ढक गई।
English Commentary
The source of the dust and tremor is revealed. The monkeys are described with terrifying attributes: Nagendra sankashaih (looking like mountain peaks) and Tikshna danshtraih (sharp-fanged). This confirms they are lethal warriors. The phrase Kritsna samchadita bhumi (the whole earth was covered) reinforces the scale. The poet emphasizes that these are not mere animals, but Mahabalaih (beings of great power), ready for the colossal war against the Rakshasas.

अब धूल छंटने पर वास्तविकता दिखाई देती है। वानरों के शारीरिक गठन का वर्णन है: 'नगेन्द्र संकाशैः' (पर्वतों जैसे विशाल) और 'तीक्ष्ण दन्ष्ट्रैः' (नुकीले दांतों वाले)। ये वानर पालतू नहीं, बल्कि जंगली और युद्धक हैं। 'असंख्येयैः' (जिनकी गिनती न हो सके) शब्द बताता है कि सुग्रीव का आदेश कितना प्रभावी था। पूरी पृथ्वी वानरों से 'संछादिता' (पट गई) है। यह दृश्य राम को आश्वस्त करने के लिए पर्याप्त है कि अब उनके पास एक अजेय सेना है।
