मैन्दः च द्विविदः च उभौ अश्वि पुत्रौ महाबलौ ।
कोटि कोटि सहस्रेण वानराणाम् अदृश्यताम् ॥ ॥४-३९-२५॥
maindaḥ ca dvividaḥ ca ubhau aśvi putrau mahābalau । koṭi koṭi sahasreṇa vānarāṇām adṛśyatām ॥ ॥4-39-25॥
Translation
Mainda and Dvivida, the two mighty sons of the Ashvini Kumaras, appeared accompanied by a thousand crores of Vanaras each.

अश्विनीकुमारों के पुत्र, महाबली 'मैन्द' और 'द्विविद' दोनों, वानरों की हजार-हजार करोड़ सेना के साथ दिखाई दिए।
English Commentary
This verse introduces the brothers Mainda and Dvivida. They are the sons of the Ashvini Kumaras (the twin physicians of the gods). Known for their invincibility due to boons (and associations with Amrita/nectar), they are distinguished warriors. The text mentions "Koti Koti Sahasrena," implying they brought thousands of crores of troops (either together or each). As divine offspring, they possess strength superior to ordinary Vanaras. Their presence adds a supernatural tier to the army's capability. They are inseparable in the text, fighting and commanding together, representing the twin nature of their fathers.

इस श्लोक में दो भाइयों, मैन्द और द्विविद का वर्णन है। वे देवताओं के वैद्य अश्विनीकुमारों के पुत्र हैं। उन्हें 'महाबलौ' कहा गया है। पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार, इन्होंने अमृत पान किया था (या इन्हें ब्रह्मा जी का वरदान था), जिससे ये अवध्य और अत्यंत शक्तिशाली माने जाते हैं। 'कोटि कोटि सहस्रेण' का अर्थ है कि वे प्रत्येक या संयुक्त रूप से अत्यंत विशाल (हजारों करोड़) सेना लेकर आए। ये दोनों भाई वानर सेना के प्रमुख योद्धाओं में गिने जाते हैं और युद्ध में अपनी विशिष्ट भूमिका निभाते हैं। उनका आगमन सेना में दैवीय शक्ति का संचार करता है।
