ततः तारा द्युतिः तारो हरिः भीम पराक्रमः ।
पंचभिः हरि कोटीभिः दूरतः प्रत्यदृश्यत ॥ ॥४-३९-३१॥
tataḥ tārā dyutiḥ tāro hariḥ bhīma parākramaḥ । pañcabhiḥ hari koṭībhiḥ dūrataḥ pratyadṛśyata ॥ ॥4-39-31॥
Translation
Then the Vanara named Tara, shining like the stars and of terrifying prowess, was seen from afar with five crores of Vanaras.

तदनन्तर, तारों जैसी कांति वाले, भयानक पराक्रमी 'तार' नाम के वानर पांच करोड़ वानरों के साथ दूर से दिखाई दिए।
English Commentary
This verse introduces a commander named Tara (distinct from Lady Tara, Vali’s wife). He is described as having the brilliance of stars (Tara dyutih) and possessing terrifying valor (Bhima parakramah). He commands five crores of troops. The phrase "seen from afar" suggests either his towering stature or the sheer visibility of his approaching army. Tara is a key general who plays a supportive combat role in the later battles against the Rakshasas.
