नलः च अपि महावीर्यः संवृतो द्रुम वासिभिः ।
कोटी शतेन संप्राप्तः सहस्रेण शतेन च ॥ ॥४-३९-३६॥
nalaḥ ca api mahāvīryaḥ saṁvṛto druma vāsibhiḥ । koṭī śatena saṁprāptaḥ sahasreṇa śatena ca ॥ ॥4-39-36॥
Translation
The great hero Nala also arrived there, surrounded by a hundred crores and a thousand hundred (vast multitudes) of tree-dwelling Vanaras.

महावीर्यवान 'नल' भी वृक्षों पर रहने वाले सौ करोड़ और एक हजार (अनेक) वानरों से घिरे हुए वहां आ पहुंचे।
English Commentary
Nala, the son of the divine architect Vishvakarma, arrives. He is destined to be the chief engineer of the Rama Setu (bridge to Lanka). Described as Mahavirya (of great valor), he brings a massive force ("hundred crores" and more). The text refers to his troops as Druma vasibhih (dwellers of trees), grounding the epic elements in the natural characteristics of the species. Nala’s participation ensures that the army has not just fighters, but also the engineering capability required to cross the ocean.

यहाँ 'नल' का आगमन वर्णित है, जो विश्वकर्मा के पुत्र हैं और बाद में राम सेतु के निर्माण में मुख्य वास्तुकार (Architect) की भूमिका निभाते हैं। उन्हें 'महावीर्यः' कहा गया है। उनके सैनिकों को विशेष रूप से 'द्रुम वासिभिः' (वृक्षों पर रहने वाले) कहा गया है, जो वानरों की प्राकृतिक आदत का द्योतक है। उनकी सेना भी विशाल है (कोटि शत - सौ करोड़)। नल का तकनीकी ज्ञान और युद्ध कौशल दोनों ही राम की सेना के लिए अपरिहार्य हैं।
