सुग्रीवः त्वरितो रामे सर्वान् तान् वानरर्षभान् ।
निवेदयित्वा धर्मज्ञः स्थितः प्रान्जलिः अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥४-३९-४३॥
sugrīvaḥ tvarito rāme sarvān tān vānararṣabhān । nivedayitvā dharmajñaḥ sthitaḥ prāñjaliḥ abravīt ॥ ॥4-39-43॥
Translation
Sugriva, the knower of Dharma, quickly introduced all those excellent Vanaras to Rama, and standing with folded hands, he spoke.

धर्म के ज्ञाता सुग्रीव ने शीघ्रता से उन सभी श्रेष्ठ वानरों के बारे में राम को निवेदन किया (परिचय कराया), और फिर हाथ जोड़कर स्थित होकर बोले।
English Commentary
Sugriva is described as Dharmajña (knower of righteousness/duty). He understands his moral obligation to fulfilling his promise. He acts "quickly" (Tvarita), showing no delay now that the resources are ready. He introduces the army to Rama, effectively transferring the operational command or at least placing the assets at Rama's disposal. By standing with folded hands before Rama, Sugriva models the attitude of devotion that he expects his entire army to adopt toward the Prince of Ayodhya.

सुग्रीव को यहाँ 'धर्मज्ञः' (धर्म का ज्ञाता) कहा गया है। धर्मज्ञ होने के नाते, वे जानते हैं कि यह सेना वास्तव में राम के कार्य के लिए है, न कि उनके स्वयं के अहंकार के लिए। इसलिए, सेना के एकत्र होते ही वे 'त्वरितो' (शीघ्रता से) राम को सूचित करते हैं और वानरों को राम को समर्पित करते हैं। सुग्रीव स्वयं राम के समक्ष हाथ जोड़कर खड़े होते हैं, जो यह स्पष्ट करता है कि सुग्रीव राजा होते हुए भी राम को अपना स्वामी मानते हैं। वे अब औपचारिक रूप से मिशन शुरू करने की अनुमति मांग रहे हैं।
