त्वत् स नाथः सखे संख्ये जेता अस्मि सकलान् अरीन् ।
त्वम् एव मे सुहृत् मित्रम् साहाय्यम् कर्तुम् अर्हसि ॥ ॥४-३९-५॥
Tvat sa nāthaḥ sakhe saṃkhye jetā asmi sakalān arīn |
Tvam eva me suhṛt mitram sāhāyyam kartum arhasi ॥4-39-5॥
Translation
O Friend! With you as my protector and ally, I shall conquer all enemies in battle. You alone are my true-hearted friend, and you are worthy of rendering me assistance.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सखे! आपको रक्षक (नाथ) या सहायक के रूप में पाकर मैं युद्ध में समस्त शत्रुओं को जीत लूँगा। आप ही मेरे सुहृद (सच्चे हृदय वाले) मित्र हैं और आप ही मेरी सहायता करने के योग्य हैं।
English Commentary
Rama displays immense humility and leadership. By saying he will win because of Sugriva's support (Tvat sa nathah), he empowers his ally. He uses the term Suhrid—a friend with a good heart, distinct from a political ally. Rama emphasizes that Sugriva is the only one worthy (Arhasi) of helping him in this task. This is a crucial psychological boost; by framing the assistance as a privilege and a capability unique to Sugriva, Rama transforms the mission from a duty into a heroic destiny for the Vanara King.

इस श्लोक में राम विनम्रता की पराकाष्ठा प्रदर्शित करते हैं। त्रिलोक विजयी होने की क्षमता रखने वाले राम सुग्रीव से कहते हैं, 'त्वत् स नाथः' (तुम्हारे साथ/सहारे से)। वे सुग्रीव को 'नाथ' (रक्षक/स्वामी/सहारा) जैसा सम्मान देते हैं। यह एक सच्चे नेता का गुण है जो अपने सहयोगी को छोटा महसूस नहीं होने देता। वे यह भी कहते हैं कि केवल सुग्रीव ही उनकी मदद करने योग्य हैं ('अर्हसि'), जिससे वानर राज का महत्व और दायित्व दोनों बढ़ जाते हैं। यह साझेदारी (Partnership) की घोषणा है।
