Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ततः प्रहृष्टो हनुमान् कृत्यवान् इति तत् वचः ।
श्रुत्वा मधुर भावम् च सुग्रीवम् मनसा गतः ॥ ॥४-४-१॥
Tataḥ prahṛṣṭo hanumān kṛtyavān iti tat vacaḥ । Śrutvā madhura bhāvam ca sugrīvam manasā gataḥ ॥ ॥4-4-1॥
Translation
Then, delighted upon hearing those sweet words and thinking 'the task is accomplished,' Hanuman mentally went to Sugriva (thought of him).

तदनन्तर, (लक्ष्मण के) मधुर वचनों को सुनकर और यह सोचकर कि 'अब कार्य सिद्ध हो गया', प्रसन्नचित्त हनुमान ने मन ही मन सुग्रीव का स्मरण किया।
English Commentary
This marks the beginning of Sarga 4. Hanuman feels 'krtyavān'—a sense of mission accomplished. The greatest joy for a devoted servant is finding a solution for their master. Hearing the friendship and sweetness (madhura bhāvam) in Lakshmana's voice erases all of Hanuman's doubts. While physically standing before Rama, he mentally travels to Sugriva, as if eager to deliver this good news. This verse highlights Hanuman's mental agility and his unwavering devotion, constantly centering his consciousness on his duty to Sugriva.

यहाँ से चौथा सर्ग आरम्भ होता है। हनुमान जी 'कृत्यवान' महसूस कर रहे हैं, अर्थात उन्हें लग रहा है कि उनका उद्देश्य पूरा हो गया है। एक सेवक की सबसे बड़ी खुशी यही होती है कि वह अपने स्वामी के लिए समाधान खोज ले। लक्ष्मण की वाणी में मित्रता और मिठास (मधुर भावम्) पाकर हनुमान की सारी शंकाएं मिट गई हैं। वे शारीरिक रूप से राम के सामने हैं, लेकिन मानसिक रूप से सुग्रीव के पास पहुँच गए हैं, मानो उन्हें यह खुशखबरी सुना रहें हों। यह श्लोक हनुमान की मानसिक तत्परता और भक्ति को दर्शाता है।
