भाव्यो राज्यागमः तस्य सुग्रीवस्य महात्मनः ।
यत् अयम् कृत्यवान् प्राप्तः कृत्यम् च एतत् उपागतम् ॥ ॥४-४-२॥
Bhāvyo rājyāgamaḥ tasya sugrīvasya mahātmanaḥ । Yat ayam kṛtyavān prāptaḥ kṛtyam ca etat upāgatam ॥ ॥4-4-2॥
Translation
(Hanuman thought) The acquisition of the kingdom is now certain for the high-souled Sugriva, since this capable person (Rama) has arrived, and this objective (the alliance) is at hand.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(हनुमान ने सोचा) महात्मा सुग्रीव को राज्य की प्राप्ति अब निश्चित है, क्योंकि यह कार्यसाधक (श्री राम) यहाँ आ पहुंचे हैं और यह कार्य (मित्रता) भी संपन्न होने जा रहा है।
English Commentary
Hanuman’s political assessment is clearly visible here. He is not just charmed by Rama’s personality but is calculating his competence. 'Kṛtyavān prāptaḥ' signifies the arrival of someone capable of executing the task to completion. Hanuman understands that Sugriva cannot defeat Vali alone; he needed an external force superior in both righteousness and strength. In Rama, he has found that force. This verse symbolizes the rebirth of hope and confidence in the Vanara camp, turning a desperate situation into a promising one.

हनुमान जी का राजनीतिक आकलन यहाँ स्पष्ट दिखाई देता है। वे केवल राम के व्यक्तित्व से प्रभावित नहीं हैं, बल्कि वे राम की क्षमता (Competence) को भी देख रहे हैं। 'कृत्यवान प्राप्तः' का अर्थ है कि एक ऐसा व्यक्ति मिल गया है जो कार्य को अंजाम तक पहुँचा सकता है। हनुमान समझते हैं कि सुग्रीव अकेले वाली को नहीं हरा सकते, उन्हें एक बाहरी शक्ति की आवश्यकता थी जो धर्म और बल दोनों में श्रेष्ठ हो। राम के रूप में उन्हें वह शक्ति मिल गई है। यह श्लोक आशा और विश्वास के पुनर्जन्म का प्रतीक है।
