Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नाम्ना सुदर्शनम् नाम राजहंसैः समाकुलम् ।
विबुधाः चारणा यक्षाः किन्नराः स अप्सरो गणाः ॥ ॥४-४०-४६॥
Nāmnā sudarśanam nāma rājahamsaiḥ samākulam । Vibudhāḥ cāraṇā yakṣāḥ kinnarāḥ sa apsaro gaṇāḥ ॥ ॥4-40-46॥
Translation
That lake is named Sudarshana and it is teeming with royal swans. Devas, Charanas, Yakshas, Kinnaras, and troops of Apsaras frequent that place.

उस सरोवर का नाम 'सुदर्शन' है और वह राजहंसों से भरा हुआ है। देवता, चारण, यक्ष, किन्नर और अप्सराओं के समूह वहाँ विचरण करते हैं।
English Commentary
The lake is identified as 'Sudarshana' (Beautiful to behold). It serves as a celestial hub where various classes of semi-divine beings (Yakshas, Kinnaras, Apsaras) gather. The presence of Royal Swans (Rajahamsa) adds to the serenity and purity of the location. By listing these specific celestial groups, Sugriva indicates that the Vanaras are entering a realm where the veil between the earthly and the divine is thin. It implies a region of high culture, music, and celestial pleasure, contrasting with the harsh battles described earlier.
