ततः प्रस्थाप्य सुग्रीवः तन् महत् वानरम् बलम् ।
दक्षिणाम् प्रेषयामास वानरान् अभिलक्षितान् ॥ ॥४-४१-१॥
Tataḥ prasthāpya sugrīvaḥ tan mahat vānaram balam । Dakṣiṇām preṣayāmāsa vānarān abhilakṣitān ॥ ॥4-41-1॥
Translation
Then, having dispatched that great army of Vanaras (to the East), Sugriva sent specifically chosen Vanaras to the southern direction.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस विशाल वानर सेना को (पूर्व दिशा में) विदा करने के बाद, सुग्रीव ने दक्षिण दिशा के लिए चुने हुए (विशेष) वानरों को भेजा।
English Commentary
This marks the beginning of Sarga 41. The narrative shifts to the Southern expedition. The key term is abhilakshitan (marked/chosen ones). Unlike the mass deployment to the East, the team for the South is handpicked. Sugriva suspects (or knows via instinct/rumors) that the South is the critical vector, hence he allocates his most elite assets to this direction.

यहाँ से 41वां सर्ग (अध्याय) और दक्षिण दिशा का अभियान शुरू होता है। 'अभिलक्षितान्' शब्द बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है, जिसका अर्थ है 'लक्षित किए गए' या 'विशेष रूप से चुने गए'। सुग्रीव जानते हैं कि दक्षिण दिशा सबसे कठिन और महत्वपूर्ण है (क्योंकि रावण के दक्षिण में होने की संभावना सबसे अधिक है), इसलिए यहाँ वे सामान्य भीड़ को नहीं, बल्कि विशिष्ट योद्धाओं ('कमांडो टीम') को भेज रहे हैं।
