तम् उपैति सहस्राक्षः सदा पर्वसु पर्वसु ।
द्वीपः तस्य अपरे पारे शत योजन विसृतः ॥ ॥४-४१-२३॥
tam upaiti sahasrākṣaḥ sadā parvasu parvasu |
dvīpaḥ tasya apare pāre śata yojana visṛtaḥ ॥4-41-23॥
Translation
The thousand-eyed Indra visits that mountain on every Parva (auspicious days like full moon). On the other shore (across the ocean) lies an island extending for one hundred yojanas.

सहस्र नेत्रों वाले इंद्र प्रत्येक पर्व (पूर्णिमा/अमावस्या) पर वहाँ आते हैं। उस (समुद्र) के दूसरे किनारे पर सौ योजन विस्तार वाला एक द्वीप है।
English Commentary
Sugriva drops two critical pieces of intel here. First, the prestige of Mahendra mountain is such that Indra (Sahasraksha) visits it regularly, reinforcing its strategic and spiritual height. Second, and strictly strictly operational: he reveals the existence of a massive island on the other side of the waters. The dimension 'one hundred yojanas' (shata yojana) gives the Vanaras a sense of scale. This is the first direct reference to the destination (Lanka) lying across the channel, setting the stage for the Great Leap.

यहाँ सुग्रीव सबसे महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी का खुलासा करते हैं। पहला, महेन्द्र पर्वत इतना पवित्र है कि स्वयं इंद्र यहाँ आते हैं। दूसरा, और अधिक महत्वपूर्ण—'द्वीपः तस्य अपरे पारे'—समुद्र के उस पार एक द्वीप है। 'शत योजन विसृतः' (100 योजन फैला हुआ) रावण की लंका का वर्णन है (यद्यपि यहाँ नाम नहीं लिया गया)। यह वानरों के लिए लक्ष्य (Target) है। सुग्रीव सटीक इंटेलिजेंस दे रहे हैं कि समुद्र पार करने के बाद उन्हें कितनी बड़ी भूमि मिलेगी।
