अगम्यो मानुषैः दीप्तः तम् मार्गध्वम् समंततः ।
तत्र सर्व आत्मना सीता मार्गितव्या विशेषतः ॥ ॥४-४१-२४॥
agamyo mānuṣaiḥ dīptaḥ tam mārgadhvam samantataḥ |
tatra sarva ātmanā sītā mārgitavyā viśeṣataḥ ॥4-41-24॥
Translation
That island is inaccessible to humans and is resplendent. Explore it thoroughly in all directions. Sita must be searched for there specifically and with all your heart/effort.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह (द्वीप) मनुष्यों के लिए अगम्य है और (तेज से) दीप्तिमान है। तुम लोग उसे सब ओर से ढूँढना। वहाँ विशेष रूप से पूरे मन-प्राण (सर्वात्मना) से सीता की खोज करनी चाहिए।
English Commentary
Sugriva highlights the formidable nature of the target. It is 'Agamya' (inaccessible) to ordinary humans, implying that only supernatural beings or the mighty Vanaras can breach it. The island is described as 'Diptah' (glowing/shining), likely referring to the golden architecture of Lanka. The command is emphatic: search especially (visheshatah) in that place. By using the term 'sarva atmana' (with your whole soul/self), Sugriva stresses that this is the climax of their mission, requiring total commitment and focus.

सुग्रीव उस द्वीप (लंका) की प्रकृति बता रहे हैं—'अगम्यो मानुषैः' (साधारण मनुष्यों की पहुँच से बाहर)। यह वानरों को उनकी विशेष क्षमताओं की याद दिलाता है। 'दीप्तः' शब्द रावण के वैभव और राक्षसी माया के कारण द्वीप की चमक को दर्शाता है। सुग्रीव का आदेश स्पष्ट है: 'तत्र... विशेषतः' (वहाँ विशेष रूप से)। उन्हें पूरा विश्वास है कि सीता वहीं मिलेंगी, इसलिए वे वानरों को 'सर्वात्मना' (अपनी पूरी आत्मा/शक्ति लगाकर) खोजने को कहते हैं। यहाँ सुग्रीव का स्वर एक राजा का कम और एक रणनीतिकार का अधिक है।
