ततः प्रiyataro न अस्ति मम प्राणात् विशेषतः ।
कृत अपराधो बहुशो मम बन्धुः भविष्यति ॥ ॥४-४१-४८॥
Tataḥ priyataro na asti mama prāṇāt viśeṣataḥ । Kṛta aparādho bahuśo mama bandhuḥ bhaviṣyati ॥ ॥4-41-48॥
Translation
There is no one dearer to me than him; he will be more precious to me than life itself. Even if he has committed many offenses, he will become my close kinsman.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उससे बढ़कर मेरा कोई प्रिय नहीं है, वह मुझे प्राणों से भी अधिक प्यारा होगा। यदि उसने बहुत से अपराध भी किए हों, तो भी वह मेरा (घनिष्ठ) बन्धु हो जाएगा।
English Commentary
This verse is a declaration of total amnesty. Sugriva asserts that success in this mission wipes the slate clean. No matter how many past offenses (kṛta aparādho bahuśo) a Vanara might have committed, finding Sita will elevate him to the status of Sugriva's closest kin/friend (bandhu), dearer than life itself. This is astute leadership; it unifies the potentially fractured Vanara sociopolitics (some might have been loyal to Vali) by offering a path to redemption and intimacy with the King. It focuses all energy on the future outcome rather than past allegiances.

यह श्लोक सुग्रीव द्वारा दी गई 'अभयदान' (Amnesty) की घोषणा है। सुग्रीव कहते हैं कि सफलता पिछले सभी पापों या गलतियों को धो देती है। 'कृत अपराधो बहुशो'—चाहे उसने कितने भी अपराध किए हों, सीता को खोजने वाला उसका 'बन्धु' बन जाएगा। यह नेतृत्व की एक व्यावहारिक दृष्टि है जहाँ परिणाम (Result) को प्रक्रिया या अतीत के आचरण से ऊपर रखा गया है। यह उन वानरों को भी प्रेरित करता है जो शायद पहले सुग्रीव के विरोधी रहे हों या वाली के पक्षधर रहे हों; अब उनके पास सुग्रीव का सबसे प्रिय बनने का अवसर है।
