अंगद प्रमुखान् वीरान् वीरः कपि गण ईश्वरः ।
वेग विक्रम संपन्नान् संदिदेश विशेषवित् ॥ ॥४-४१-५॥
Aṅgada pramukhān vīrān vīraḥ kapi gaṇa īśvaraḥ । Vega vikrama sampannān saṃdideśa viśeṣavit ॥ ॥4-41-5॥
Translation
Sugriva, the Lord of the Vanara troops, a hero himself and a knower of special nuances, appointed Angada as the leader of these heroes endowed with speed and prowess, and gave them instructions.

विशेष बातों के जानकार (विशेषवित्) और वानर गणों के स्वामी वीर (सुग्रीव) ने अंगद को प्रमुख बनाकर, वेग और पराक्रम से संपन्न उन वीरों को आदेश दिया।
English Commentary
Sugriva is described as Visheshavit (one who knows distinctions/nuances). He wisely appoints Angada, the Crown Prince, as the figurehead (Pramukhan) of this elite group. This serves a dual purpose: it honors Vali's son, cementing his status, and places him under the mentorship of veterans like Jambavan. The team is characterized by Vega (speed) and Vikrama (valor), essential traits for the vast distance they must cover.

सुग्रीव को 'विशेषवित्' (विशेषज्ञ/मर्मज्ञ) कहा गया है। उन्होंने राजनीतिक और रणनीतिक चतुराई से अंगद (बालि पुत्र और युवराज) को इस सबसे महत्वपूर्ण अभियान का नेता बनाया। यद्यपि जाम्बवान और हनुमान अधिक अनुभवी/शक्तिशाली हो सकते हैं, लेकिन 'नेतृत्व' (leadership) राजकुल के युवराज अंगद को दिया गया ताकि उनका सम्मान बना रहे और वे जिम्मेदारी सीखें। यह दल 'वेग' (speed) और 'विक्रम' (valor) दोनों से संपन्न है।
