ततः प्रस्थाप्य सुग्रीवः तान् हरीन् दक्षिणाम् दिशम् ।
अब्रवित् मेघ संकाशम् सुषेणम् नाम वानरम् ॥ ॥४-४२-१॥
Tataḥ prasthāpya sugrīvaḥ tān harīn dakṣiṇām diśam । Abravit megha saṃkāśam suṣeṇam nāma vānaram ॥ ॥4-42-1॥
Translation
Then, having dispatched those monkeys to the southern direction, Sugriva spoke to the Vanara named Sushena, who possessed the splendor of a cloud.

तदनन्तर उन वानरों को दक्षिण दिशा में भेजकर सुग्रीव ने मेघ के समान कान्ति वाले 'सुषेण' नामक वानर से कहा।
English Commentary
This verse marks the beginning of Sarga 42 and the instructions for the West. After sending off the Southern search party, Sugriva turns his attention to Sushena. Sushena is described as megha saṃkāśam (resembling a cloud), implying a dark, majestic, and imposing presence. As we will see, Sushena holds a unique position as Tara's father. Sugriva addressing him personally signals a shift from general command to a respectful request directed at a senior elder. The narrative flow moves seamlessly from the deployment of Angad’s group to this new front.
