Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
शृंगे तस्य महत् दिव्यम् भवनम् सूर्य संनिभम् ।
प्रासाद गण संबाधम् विहितम् विश्वकर्मणा ॥ ॥४-४२-४४॥
Śṛṃge tasya mahat divyam bhavanam sūrya saṃnibham । Prāsāda gaṇa saṃbādham vihitam viśvakarmaṇā ॥ ॥4-42-44॥
Translation
On the peak of that mountain stands a massive, divine palace shining like the sun, surrounded by numerous mansions, constructed by Vishvakarma.

उस पर्वत के शिखर पर सूर्य के समान चमकने वाला, अनेक महलों से घिरा हुआ एक विशाल और दिव्य भवन है, जिसका निर्माण (शिल्पी) विश्वकर्मा ने किया है।
English Commentary
This verse details a magnificent architectural landmark located at the edge of the world. It describes a celestial palace complex built by Vishvakarma, the divine architect. The structure is compared to the sun itself (surya sannibham), suggesting it is made of gold or radiant materials that blaze in the sunset. The mention of it being crowded with numerous other mansions (prasada gana) indicates a settled, city-like dwelling even at this remote boundary. For the scouts, this is a critical visual confirmation that they have reached the correct destination in the West—the abode of the gods guarding the direction.
