अवगम्य तु वैदेहीम् निलयम् रावणस्य च ।
अस्तम् पर्वतम् आसाद्य पूर्णे मासे निवर्तत ॥ ॥४-४२-५२॥
Avagamya tu vaidehīm nilayam rāvaṇasya ca 。 Astam parvatam āsādya pūrṇe māse nivartata ॥ ॥4-42-52॥
Translation
Having discovered Vaidehi and the abode of Ravana, and having reached the Sunset Mountain, you must return when the month is complete.

वैदेही (सीता) और रावण के निवास स्थान का पता लगाकर, तथा अस्ताचल पर्वत तक पहुँचकर, महीना पूरा होने पर तुम लोग लौट आना।
English Commentary
Sugriva summarizes the operational objectives for the western division: Intelligence gathering regarding Sita and Ravana's location, and geographical reconnaissance up to the Asta Mountain. Crucially, he imposes a strict timeline: Purne mase nivartata (Return upon the completion of the month). This creates urgency. The mission is not just an exploration but a time-bound military sortie. The instruction implies that whether they find her or not, they must report back by the deadline to plan the next phase of the war.

यह श्लोक मिशन के तीन मुख्य उद्देश्यों को समेटता है: 1. सीता का पता लगाना, 2. रावण के ठिकाने को ढूँढना, और 3. पश्चिम की अंतिम सीमा (अस्त पर्वत) तक पहुँचना। इसके साथ ही सबसे महत्वपूर्ण निर्देश समय सीमा का है—'पूर्णे मासे' (महीना पूरा होने पर)। सुग्रीव वानरों को याद दिला रहे हैं कि यह खोज अनिश्चितकालीन नहीं है। समय प्रबंधन युद्धनीति का एक अनिवार्य हिस्सा है। यह आदेश स्पष्ट और संक्षिप्त है, जिसमें किसी भी प्रकार के विलंब की अनुमति नहीं है।
